Introduction
A sensational looking machine with flawless lines neatly conveying its power without being overbearing or brash and with just a few upgrades throughout its tenure. The interior follows the exterior with beautiful detailing following the exterior lines and with a beautiful mixture of well-executed aluminium, wood and leather.
The drive itself is exquisite especially with the incorporation of the adaptive damping system in 2010 however any journey will represent an event and one is far likely to run out of talent before properly exploring the car’s limits.
With its full Aston Martin Service History, this example appears in superb condition throughout with the interior requiring no attention at all. The wheels appear in excellent condition having been refurbished in 2025 when all four tyres were replaced and the colour combination has been well considered.
Background
The DB9 was the star of the 2003 Frankfurt Motor show where it was unveiled to the public for the very first time. The sleek superformed aluminium body was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. The DB9 was powered by a third-generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. Production of the coupe started at the new Gaydon factory very early in 2004, with the Volante coming on stream early in 2005.
The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture the DB 9 used Superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power.
Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. Beautifully tailored with the finest of materials, the DB9 follows uses Bridge of Weir leather, aluminium and wood. The use of wood in the interior was different from previous Aston Martins, with customers offered a choice of walnut, mahogany or bamboo. The fine detail of finishing typifies by the starter button made of glass; sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.
The final batch of 2008MY spec coupes fitted with Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission were badged as Le Mans – this car, although registered in 2008 is a 2009 model with the accompanying glass key so it has the 470 bhp AM09 engine with that same Touchtronic 2 transmission.
Summary:
This DB9 looks very attractive in Slate Blue Metallic an understated yet elegant colour, which allows the 20 spoke Diamond Turned alloy wheels announce its power and ability. The interior in Caspian Blue and Cream Truffle leather with Walnut veneers and door cappings, is well appointed, inviting and comfortable.

Vehicle History
The Aston Martin DB9 is a beautiful example of Newport Pagnell's finest, especially with two additional rear seats built to 'accommodate the grandchildren’.
It has, unsurprisingly, received much admiration as a sensational looking machine with flawless lines neatly conveying its power without being overbearing or brash and with just a few upgrades throughout its tenure.
This an exceptional example, acquired by the current owner from Newport Pagnell in 2017, he is the third registered keeper in the registration document. However, whilst there are two previous keepers shown, indications are that there may only have been one principal driver. The first known was a company, Bearwood Corporate Services, a subsidiary of a Belize registered corporation linked to Lord Ashcroft KCMG and the second was Lady Susan Ashcroft, and as it was registered SUS1, it looks to have been her car!
